As you know we’ll be performing at TEDx on April 8th, and we just had a great idea! Wouldn’t it be great if we could get pictures of our canine friends, not to mention the Rovers, Spikes and Fifis of our friends and fans to share in a slide show while we perform Brooke’s song, “I’m Your Dog Blues”? Do you have a dog? Do you like taking photos of your dog looking cute, loyal, goofy, guilty, or happy-go-lucky? If so, please send your high-resolution dog photo to us by March 28. We are very pleased to announce that we’ll be performing on April 8th at TEDxGreenville! This is a great event with 23 compelling speakers and performers. We’ll kick things off with our CD Release Party in Greenville, SC on March 6. It’s a drop-in with a jam afterwards, so join us for a tune or the whole time. It’s free, and there will be food, music of course, and some limited band swag like The BattleAxe Band mugs.

Also,  a few more events are in the works and we’ll get them on the calendar as soon as they are finalized.

If you are feeling adventurous this year (like we are) and want to try out contra dancing (it is SO much fun!) or going to a farmer’s market you’ve never been to or maybe a new event venue, come with us (we double-dog dare you)! See you soon!

Hi everyone! We decided to make a video to enter NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest this year. We had a lot of fun making it, and we hope you’ll have fun watching it.

The Battleaxe Band at Tim’s Studio

The Battleaxe Band has been busy working on our debut album this fall. In October we made our first trip up to Pisgah Forest to lay down the bulk of our tracks. On Sunday we went back up to the studio and re-recorded 4 tracks to get them just right. Tim has already sent us the tracks to preview it sounds good!

After Tim finishes the mixing, he’ll send it on for mastering, then it will go to the CD manufacturer. We are still hoping to get the CDs out in time for Christmas.

We are planning to have a CD release party sometime in the early new year, probably in February after all the holiday rush is over. We’ll let you know so you have time to put it on your calendars.

We are so thankful to have the chance to make this album and we owe it all to our fans – Thank you!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The album title will be “…because we ARE” .

Meanwhile we are polishing up our favorite songs and getting ready to go into the studio on the 17th. We are so excited!

We’ve had a great following on Facebook, but we’ve made lots of new friends lately and want to be accessible to all of you, so we are making this web page. We will be posting updates of our upcoming events such as dances and farmer’s markets and other public concerts as well as updates on our upcoming CD/digital album release.
